Industrial Designer & Maker
Master of Industrial Design · Pratt Institute

My name is Joseph Benanti, I am an industrial designer working between digital design and fabrication by hand. My work focuses on how objects shape behavior and perception, from rethinking everyday tools to developing systems that integrate seamlessly into real environments.

With a background in CNC machining, 3D printing, and embedded prototyping, I approach design through fast iteration and material testing, not just concept. I work with clients from early sketches through prototyping, refinement, and production, developing products that are not only functional, but considered in how they are used, carried, and experienced.

All of it now runs out of my own design studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where the designing and the making happen in the same place.

Consulting [Williamsburg, Brooklyn]

From an idea,

Hand drawn illustration of the studio process, from a lightbulb to a sketch to a finished lamp
to the real thing.

The Benanti Designs studio sits in the flourishing artistic district of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's a full creative suite with a shop full of machines, a built out casting area, an electronics bench, and the room to think, test, and build in one place.

Bring a sketch, a concept, or an idea you haven't worked out yet. We go back and forth through drawings, models, and prototypes until we land on the right solution for you. The studio handles full life cycle product development, from first sketch through manufacturing and launch.
